INDIANA WOMEN IN NEED

July 9, 2024

Our mid year report from Indiana Women In Need let us know that with the grant money we provided to them for the first half of this year ($7,500), they were able to provide financial assistance to 19 men and women in our community who are currently in treatment for breast cancer.
This is just one way Pink Ribbon works to help those in our community whose lives are affected by breast cancer.
Examples of individuals served with this grant included:
L. C. from Porter county who said “The transporation assistance helped a lot with the over 40 minutes drive to my weekly appointment.”
J.P.  who is a 56 year old from Lake County shared that her husband recently passed away from lung cancer and she is dealing with the grief on top of continuing to care for her autistic daughter.”  She qualified for $400 that she used to pay for groceries.
C.F. is a 38 year old single mother who used her grant money for groceries and transportation.  As she endured chemotherapy the grant provided relief to ensure she could care for her two sons, one who is special needs.
If you know someone in Lake, Porter, Jasper or Newton County who is in treatment for breast cancer, contact iwinfoundation.org for more information.
