The Pink Ribbon Planning Committee and Board
The Pink Ribbon Board and Committee include Ann Peters, Founder/President; Christine Cain, Vice President: Maura Rowley, Secretary; Committee Members, Marge Gresser, Marnita Taylor, Lola Stephens-McCann, Marilyn Stark, Kristy Victor, James Pellegrini, Evelyn Thomas and Val Kleinedler
The Pink Ribbon Society is a volunteer organization dedicated to serving the men and women of our community whose lives have been touched by breast cancer.
The Committee works tirelessly beginning in March to plan for the annual event. There is a great deal of work and thought that goes into producing an event of this caliber and volume. Without this hard working and well-oiled team, we would never be able to support our community.
We look forward to seeing a bunch of familiar faces and a lot of new faces this year at the 16th Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Tea on September 24, 2017.
Our Junior Volunteer Family
Pink Ribbon Society is made up of volunteers who donate their time, efforts, energy, resources to helping support the men and women of our community whose lives have been touched by breast cancer.
MANY friends and family members of each and every member of the committee has come forward to volunteer their time and represent the Pink Ribbon as servers, walkers, ticket sellers, transporters, reception, signing, movers, set up and yes, take down. We would not be able to succeed as we have without the help of these individuals.
Our many thanks goes out to all of these special people….we love you all.

Taylor is a Junior at Valparaiso University studying nursing. Savanna is a Junior at Boone Grove High School in Valparaiso.
Taylor and Savanna Chris’s daughters and the eldest and second eldest of Ann’s Granddaughters.
Both girls have been supporters and volunteers for Pink Ribbon for many years. They help each year with set up for the tea, participate in Strides Walks, attend many other breast cancer events representing Pink Ribbon.
Shown with Pink Ribbon President, Ann Peters is Pink Ribbon’s newest and youngest volunteer, Shelbi Lyn Peters. Shelbi is in the third grade at Cook’s Elementary in Valparaiso. Shelbi is Ann’s youngest granddaughter and was so excited to be invited as a volunteer in 2016.
Lifetime friends Kelsie Edwards and Savanna Cain have worked the Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Tea for many years. We have counted on their young healthy legs to run the bags up and down the staircase, hand out our gift bags and water and of course, help with set up and take down. We are pleased that the girls receive community credits at Boone Grove High School for their hours dedicated to Pink Ribbon.
Taylor Cain and Macy Miller have been friends since kindergarten and have volunteered their time with Pink Ribbon for several years. Taylor is a third year nursing student at Valparaiso University and Macy attends Purdue University majoring in education. Both girls have been an amazing asset at the Breast Cancer Awareness Tea each year.
