13th Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Tea

13th Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Tea

Over 750 guests attended the 13th Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Tea, which was held Sunday, September 28, 2014, at the Avalon Manor in Merrillville. The event, which honors not only breast cancer survivors, but also those recently diagnosed and those currently in treatment for breast cancer.

The Pink Ribbon Society was organized in 2003 for the sole purpose of supporting the men and women in Lake, Porter, Jasper and Newton Counties in Northwest Indiana. All of the money raised by the Pink Ribbon Society stays in our local community. Revenue from the Annual Tea helps promote various programs that benefit those whose lives are touched by breast cancer.

The Annual Tea is supported by local businesses, area hospitals, and individuals who donate through sponsorships and underwriting opportunities that range from $ 75 to $ 5,000.

Upon arrival, each guest is presented with a goodie bag, which has been generously filled by many corporate contributors and local companies. Then off to the vendor area for shopping with the numerous vendors who sell and promote their products and services.

The 2015 tea is set for Sunday, September 27, 2015, once again at the Avalon Manor. This will be the 14th Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Tea and promises to be a true celebration of survival.  The tea sells out every year and reservations are required.
