Had a great time last night at the Boone Grove Wolves football game. They won against South Newton 35-0…way to go Wolves. The game was dedicated to breast cancer survivors….as you can see, the team really got into the game with their pink socks. At halftime, survivor medallions were distributed to survivors..I proudly got one that shows the wolves on the front. Also, a picture of me with Wolfie!!! A little damp but we had a great time. Thanks to Chris Stark and the WolfPack Club from Boone Grove for their efforts and recognition….more to come…..

FREE MAMMOGRAMS – Please read on

Dear Pink Ribbon Friends:

I have received a notice from the Northwest Indiana Breast Care Center at Methodist Hospital about a new program they are starting. The Methodist Hospitals and the Chicago Bears Foundation, Bears Care, have teamed to provide FREE SCREENING MAMMOGRAMS to low-income and/or minority women in Northwest Indiana. You can call 219-981-5440 to learn if you or someone you know would qualify for the free screening mammogram and to schedule an appointment. There is a limited number of free mammograms available so make that call as soon as you can….No Woman Left Behind!!! Not on our watch if we can help it.

Mothers’ Day Brunch supporting the Pink Ribbon Society

Each year the Avalon Manor in Merrillville hosts a very nice Mothers’ Day Brunch. Owner, Peter Kaiafas, donates a portion of their proceeds to the Pink Ribbon Society. So if you’re making plans to take Mom or Grandma out for a great day, call the Avalon Manor at 945-0888 and and make your resevations. You can log onto to see their complete menu and pricing. This is just one more way you can help support the Pink Ribbon Society.
